about

I wrote this tune the day I heard John Prine died. He was one of the earliest casualties of covid that tugged on my heart strings. I decided to not write a John Prine type song because only he could do that. More so I wrote a song that would prepare me for the struggles to come in the world and those whom we'd lose. Some toy piano percussion by MLE, ambulance siren "police on my back" guitar by Mahoney, firing squad drum rolling and rocking breaks by Vullo and Big Bad Barry Stock crushing it on bass. The music was something that Barry and I goofed off in practice to over the last few years and it fit the song. The title and song is a reference to all I can do is write a song about things and the heart strings are on my guitar.
